Performing & Visual Arts Afterschool and Summer Programs

Little Scholars of Detroit’s Performing & Visual Arts Afterschool and Summer programs provide a comprehensive selection of classes and activities designed to engage children in five key areas: Academic Enrichment, Fitness & Sports, Performing & Creative Arts, Culture, and Life Skills. These focus areas support social and emotional development while encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.

The arts and cultural components are central to our programs, giving students the tools to express themselves, explore innovative ideas, and develop confidence in their abilities.

Classes We Offer

Our diverse class offerings allow students to explore and expand their skills, including:

• AI Training & STEM – hands-on technology and science exploration

• Music – instrumental, vocal, and theory-based activities

• Theater – acting, improvisation, and performance skills

• Dance – various styles promoting fitness, rhythm, and expression

• Etiquette Training – social skills, manners, and professionalism

• Performing & Creative Arts – visual arts, creative projects, and cultural enrichment

Enrichment Opportunities

In addition to our classroom curriculum, students participate in educational field trips that enhance learning and expose them to culture, history, and the performing arts. Past outings include museums, live theater performances, art galleries, outdoor performances, libraries, and art fairs.

Students also have the chance to engage in community outreach events by volunteering with local service providers. Our programs emphasize a balanced approach to education, blending academic growth with artistic and cultural development.
