Job Description:

Little Scholars of Detroit is looking for progressive, caring, emotionally passion-driven teachers to fill openings at our Early Child Development Center. This new hire would be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities:

Developing weekly lesson plans according to the creative curriculum
Provide responsive care to all children by adapting daily caregiving routines.
Prepare developmental progress reports as needed.
Maintain ongoing, open communication with parents/ caregivers, and report changes in family schedule or excessive absences promptly
Provide a classroom environment that encourages parent participation.
Assist with functioning and monitoring of nutrition and food service.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and in case of emergency a 40-pound child.

Education:

CDA Accreditation or an associate's degree
Prior work experience

Job Description

The Teaching Assistant helps the Lead Teacher complete daily tasks. These duties include but
are not limited to assisting the teacher in staying on task and in compliance with lesson plans and
leading lessons or small group activities for children. They also help provide individual guidance
to students with learning disabilities or behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

Evaluate each child entering the building for health and safety issues
Check that all Parents/ Guardians are signing in and out properly accommodations or are struggling with a concept or activity
Ask for ID and check enrollment form before releasing a child to an unfamiliar person.
Develop a daily lesson plan with the Lead Teacher and assist with any equipment
Keep mandatory employee file current
Implement and enforce a daily routine and assist with tracking attendance
Keep track of all meals at point of service
Assist in all recruitment days for Little Scholars CDC
Hold two home visits and two center visits each year
Keep daily anecdotal notes on each child and enter them into the Goals
Screen each child twice a year with the ASQ and maintain child education files
Practice positive discipline
Be available to discuss classroom information with a parent/ guardian before or after school.
Attending faculty meetings and parent conferences
Collaborating with the Teacher to identify students’ issues and recommend solutions
Observing state, school and class rules and regulations
Be aware and in accordance with all policies and procedures listed in the employee handbook
Pursue and enroll in a mandatory 24 hours of training in the early childhood field and attend all mandatory Little Scholars CDC meetings/events.
Clean rooms daily before all meals using a 3-step process for all tables.
This includes and is not limited to sweeping and mopping.
Empty trash (take trash to dumpster), clean all surfaces and toys.
All classrooms to have a dirty toy bin/All toy to be sanitized daily
Supervising children in class, between classes and during recreation periods and field trips
Giving extra help to students who need special

Job Description
Reliable driver that follows a scheduled route and ensures the safety of children in their care. The
school bus driver responsibilities include ensuring proper vehicle maintenance, observing safety
and traffic rules and maintaining order among students while they are on the bus.

Responsibilities:

Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety.
Daily bus inspection before driving and after driving bus
Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops.
Conduct bus inspection (date and check off bus sheet and turn in daily) regularly check vehicle
for any safety concerns such as tires, brakes, turn signals, mechanical equipment, etc. and report asap.
Monitor and report fuel consumption, mileage, and passenger numbers, reporting delays, accidents, tickets, and emergencies.
Responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
Assisting with the loading and unloading of the bus when required.
Enforcing conduct and safety rules on the bus.
Maintain a clean vehicle.

Requirements:

High school diploma/GED preferred.
CDL license required, or State Issued Class B or C
Passenger and school bus endorsement required.
Clean driving record.
Previous experience as a bus driver.
Experience working with children preferred.
Working knowledge of first aid procedures.

Job Description

The Cook ensures professional conduct, positive relations with stakeholders, and smooth daily operation of the satellite kitchen. Responsibilities include managing meal/milk accounts, verifying meal accountability, preparing reports, maintaining inventory, and forecasting needs. The Cook organizes tasks to serve safe, nutritious, and appealing meals on time while adhering to state and federal policies to maintain funding. Additionally, they promote healthful eating and ensure a clean, safe work environment following CACFP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create menu for the week and submit it to administration each Friday.

• Ensure each center has approved menus.

• Prepares meals daily.

• Pick up all food and supplies purchased.

• Determine food and supply needs based on rotating menus.

• Order all food and supplies needed before Friday.

• Inspect food products and supplies as needed.

• Ensure work environment and stations are clean, sanitized, and organized.

• Check food before it is served.

• Control and minimize waste.

• Comply with outlined safety regulations and procedures.

• Complete one procurement a year.

• Sweep and Mop floors.

• Make sure each center is using a point of service method (prepping).

• Complete one procurement per year.

• Monitor inventory for each center.

• Ensure the milk record sheet is completed.

• Make sure all substitutions logs are submitted monthly.

• Make sure all equipment is serviced and maintained.

• Make sure an allergy list is posted in all kitchens.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.

• 2-3 years food service or restaurant experience required.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

• Comfortable standing, stopping, squatting, twisting, and moving frequently.

• Ability to pass a food service sanitation course (Servsafe).

• Familiarity with general kitchen equipment and appliances.

• Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods,

and safety and sanitation practices.

• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes.

• Familiar with CACFP (Food Program)

• Ability to deliver meals to another daycare center.
